The organisers of the GENTI Festival have named The Cavemen and Johnny Drille as headliners for its 2023 carnival.

In a recent statement, the organisers said the event, tagged ‘The Abuja Flagship’, will be held between October 21 and 22.

The music festival will take place at Harrow Park, Wuse 2, Abuja by 3 pm daily. 

The Cavemen will perform on the first day of the festival while Drille is expected to thrill the guests on the second day.

“Renowned for pioneering the renaissance of highlife music and making it relevant to a contemporary generation hungry to connect to their roots, The Cavemen are set to bring their infectious rhythms and melodies to the GENTI Festival stage,” the statement reads in part. 

“As a continuation to his Johnny’s Room Live series of concerts. Johnny Drille, the soul-stirring crooner known for his emotive melodies and captivating lyrics, will showcase his unique musical prowess that has earned him a dedicated fan base. Lovers of Johnny will experience this year’s 5th edition at the GENTI Festival stage.” 

The statement said the festival will feature a “lineup of electronic dance music DJs, and unique engagement activities”.

The two-day event will also feature “food and drinks concession stands, paint and sip, E-sports, VR Games, Pool Tables/Fuss Ball, brand experiential, photo calls/booths, and 360 cameras shoot”. 

Speaking on the objectives of the event, Emeka Onwumere, the CEO, said: “GENTI Festival aims to create a Flagship music Festival in the city of Abuja, create unique memorable Live music experiences for attendees, Focus on quality over quantity In Artiste and DJ Line up, Stimulate/stir up the demand for large scale quality live Music events in Abuja”.
