Naomi Osaka, the Japanese tennis star, has announced that she is pregnant with her first child.
Naomi took to her Instagram page to announce her pregnancy with a photo of an ultrasound.
The four-time Grand Slam champion also penned a heartfelt note to fans in both English and Japanese that she can’t wait to be back on the court.
“Can’t wait to get back on the court, but here’s a little life update for 2023,” she wrote.
The 25-year-old also said she looks forward to the future with her kid watching her matches.
“I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future; one thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch some of my matches and tell someone, ‘That’s my mom,” she said.
“2023 will be a year that’ll be full of lessons for me, and I hope I’ll see you guys at the start of of the next one ’cause I’ll be at Aus 2024.”

Osaka last played at the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo in September. The former world number one also withdrew from the Australian Open earlier this week.
The tennis star recently celebrated the release of her children’s book, titled ‘The Way Champs Play’.
