‘Free Mind’, the song by Tems, has become the longest-charting track by a lead female artiste atop Billboard‘s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay list.

In a recent publication, Billboard said ‘Free Mind’ has been at number one on its log for 17 weeks.

The chart also showed that for the week ending May 20, the listenership for the song rose by 1% to generate “19.2 million audience impressions”.

Standing for the most weeks on the chart, ‘Free Mind’ also surpassed ‘Boo’d’, a song by Ella Mai, the British female songwriter.

‘Free Mind’ is a track off ‘For Broken Ears’, Tems’ debut seven-track extended play (EP) released on September 25, 2020.

Tems has continued to enjoy attention since the release of the hit song.

In 2022, the songstress made her first solo entry on the Billboard Hot 100 with ‘Free Mind’.

A few months later, the song was also ranked number 9 on Billboard’s chart.

Tems gained widespread fame after featuring in ‘Essence’, a collaborative song with Wizkid.
