Kendrick Lamar, the American rapper, has dominated the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards, picking up six trophies.

The award, which is a spin-off of the main BET Awards. was held at the Cobbs Energy Performing Arts Centre, Atlanta, Georgia, the United States on Tuesday night.

The chart-topping superstar, who was nominated in nine categories, won six awards including ‘Album of the Year’, ‘Artist of the Year’, ‘Lyricist of the Year’, ‘Best Live Performer’, ‘Best Hip Hop Video’ and ‘Video Director of the Year’.

Drake won three awards — after being nominated for 14 — including best collaboration for ‘Wait For U’ with Future and Tems, the Nigerian singer.

In July, Tems was among the major winners at the 2022 BET Awards.

The songstress won the ‘Best Collaboration’ category alongside Wizkid and Justin Bieber for their roles in ‘Essence’, their collaborative hit track.
