Sophia Momodu, Davido’s first babymama, has issued an apology for using the picture of Ifeanyi in post celebrating the singer’s 30th birthday.

To mark Davido’s birthday on Monday, Sophia shared a photo of the singer carrying Ifeanyi while being surrounded by his other children in a post via Imade’s Instagram page.

The post, however, did not sit well with many social media users.

Some had accused Sophia of being insensitive for posting a picture that has Ifeanyi.

Reacting to the criticisms in a statement on Tuesday, the brand influencer apologised over the development.

The entrepreneur said it was not her “intention” to appear “insensitive” as claimed.

“I realise that the earlier post may come across as insensitive and sincerely apologize as that was not the intention. Imade deeply loves her father and all her siblings,” she wrote.

“And as a mother, I’m doing my best to guide her through the difficult emotion of grief from the loss of her brother whilst trying to celebrate her father’s birthday

“I ask for your consideration and hope that you all can be understanding during these times. Thank you.”

Ifeanyi is Davido’s only child with Chioma Rowland, his fiancee. The three-year-old drowned in a pool on October 31.

The incident happened within the singer’s residence in Banana Island, Lagos state.

Following Ifeanyi’s death, the police interrogated eight of Davido’s domestic workers, including his nanny.

The nanny and his cook were subsequently detained for a further probe while the others were set free.

The police had revealed that an autopsy conducted on Ifeanyi confirmed he died from drowning.
