The singer has been accused of being underwhelming in her outfits and hairdo, with many taking to social media to criticise her.

After visiting the Big Brother House on Thursday, Simi was bashed for failing to impress with her outfit.

Her performance at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) on Saturday elicited similar complaints from her fans and commenters on social media.

The singer, however, says she loves her outfits and that she’s living her dream.

She took to Twitter Saturday night to urge fans to invest their energy into other productive endeavours.

Simi lamented the fact that it’s women who often criticise her style, saying, “Funny how it’s women that enjoy bashing other women”.

She wrote, “If you take this energy and invest it in ur life sweetie, my needle and thread dress won’t bother you. And I mean well.

“You don’t like my dress or hair. I’ve heard. I like it. I love it. I’m living my dream. Be happy for me. Cos tbh, I’m happy for me.”

Simi also advised her fans to pray for her to win a Grammy award rather than obsess over her fashion.

“And before u say I should ignore, I’m not upset. At all. I just hate to see ppl so worked up abt something that is not stopping my blessings.

“Pray that my music breaks the norm and I become a better artist and win Grammies…cos I pray that you make it in life. All Love. All God,” she added.
