The Silverbird Group-sponsored cruise ship will now take off from Barcelona, Spain on July 24.

In May, Guy Murray-Bruce, the group’s president, was on a tour of the Royal Caribbean ship in Barcelona to ensure plans were on course.

Murray-Bruce also joined other international partners invited for the tour of the vessel which is described as the ‘Wonder of the Seas’.

The vessel is said to be the world’s most expensive and sophisticated Oasis cruise ship. It carries a maximum of 6,988 passengers.

The tour allowed representatives of those who are confirmed for the sea voyage — which will begin on July 24 and end on August 15 — a sneak preview of what to expect this summer.

Commenting on the trip, Guy said: “If you have not made up your mind about the cruise perhaps this should convince you.”

The organisers said tourists on the sailing “will be among the first in Europe to experience the combination of all-new adventures and returning favourites designed to inspire wonder and awe in holidaymakers of all ages.

“They will access a variety of experiences across Wonder’s eight unique neighbourhoods.

“We are quietly tantalised by a thrill of entertainment: dining, nightlife, and more.

“There is the Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar.

“[There], southern comfort food meets Royal Caribbean’s hospitality and creativity, the new dining venue is the latest addition to the array of 40-plus restaurants, bars, and lounges on board.”

Ben Murray-Bruce, the former senator representing Bayelsa east who is also a brother to Guy, had earlier introduced ‘Getting Africans back on a Cruise‘, an initiative he said was aimed at promoting tourism and deepening family ties on the continent through sea voyages.

The sea voyage, it is understood, is a collaborative effort involving Silverbird Entertainment Group, the Democratic Republic of Congo/Rwanda-based TheXperts as well as Royal Caribbean Nigeria.
