Oriyomi was said to have led some youths of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Shogbamu Parish, Gbagada to the beach in Ajah on Saturday.

The fun-seeking prophet would later be declared missing on the evening of the fateful day after his whereabouts became unknown.

Church members searched for him till Sunday morning after which the incident was reported at a police station.

Oriyomi’s lifeless body was, however, found at Baracuda Beach Resort in Eti-Osa on Monday.

“The youths of the church parish at Gbagada were on a planned Valentine’s Day love feast at the Avista Beach Resort and they were 16 in number,” a source told Punch.

“They first lodged at a shortlet apartment very close to the resort where they had a party before later moving into the beach resort.

“Around 9 pm, they prepared to leave and when they got to the car park, they discovered that Oriyomi was missing.

“When they asked his girlfriend, she said he gave her his phone, went in and promised to come back. They later went to the beach, searched for him and could not find him before they left.”

Some friends and colleagues of the deceased prophet have taken to Facebook to mourn him.

“The value of our friendship is beyond measure. I’d pay anything to have you back for one more moment, for one more memory. I will miss you Damilola Remilekun Oriyomi Omo Maria. My able friend, prophet and birthday mate,”  a user wrote.
