Osita Iheme, the Nollywood actor fondly called Pawpaw, has expressed delight over the use of footage from his old movies as memes on social media.

Iheme, who recently featured on Next Kulture, said he is happy to see people using his memes to express themselves.

The 42-year-old actor said he appreciates the fact that people still value the work he did many years ago.

“I feel great seeing people using my memes on social media. It is good to see that your works are doing well out there and people appreciate what you are doing,” he said.

“Even though it has been so many years, people still value it now. So it is good. It shows that you have an asset you can always back up and bank with.

“Because when you look at 20 years ago, a job you had done and a lot of people are using it now to express themselves. So I feel happy.”

Iheme is a veteran actor and movie producer.

He is widely known for playing the role of Pawpaw in the film ‘Aki na Ukwa’ alongside Chinedu Ikedieze.

In 2007, Iheme received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.

In 2011, he was honoured as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) by former president Goodluck Jonathan.

The actor’s short Nollywood clips are known to readily evoke laughter and have been widely used across social media platforms.

In 2019, 50 Cent, the US rapper, used a hilarious clip of the actor to threaten his debtors.
