The actor, 40, took to Instagram on Friday to share a post wherein he gave his opinion about why relationships and marriages don’t last.

Michel said many lovers make the mistake of over-prioritising sex in marriages while ignoring elements of friendship.

“Interviewer: So Majid why do you think relationships and even marriages don’t last? Majid: well, if you are going out on a first date and all you are thinking about is sex, therein lies the problem,” he wrote.

“Cos it’s all about sex. People don’t know how to have a relationship outside of just a sexual relationship.

“They don’t know how to talk to a person, they don’t know how to be friends. and this is the reason a lot of relationships and marriages are breaking down.”

Majid was born in Cantonments, a suburb of Accra, to a Lebanese father and a Ghanaian mother.

In secondary school, Michel was actively involved in theatre and was a member of the school’s drama club. At the time, he had received a ‘Best Actor Award’ in one of his performances in Cape Coast, Ghana.

He started professional acting by auditioning for a modelling agency a neighbour had introduced him to. Majid would later get his Nollywood debut in ‘Emerald’, a 2009 romantic drama, playing the lead alongside Genevieve Nnaji.

The actor is married to Virna Michel with whom he has three beautiful kids.
