The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has commenced an investigation into a viral video of a woman smoking near a baby.

In the video making rounds on social media, a lady whose identity is yet to be identified, could be seen smoking shisha.

In the footage, she is seen puffing the smoke from the shisha towards her baby.

She captioned the video: “My baby sef don shayo”, which means “Even my baby is getting high”.

Reacting in a post via its X page, the agency issued a public appeal to locate the young woman in the video.

“If anyone has any information about this, kindly get in touch with us immediately,” the agency wrote.

“Please use our toll-free hotline: 08000 333 333 or send us a direct message through our social media platforms.”

The video also sparked widespread criticism on social media, with some users demanding her arrest and the protection of her child.

“This is so sad. People that are still supposed to be collecting trains from their parents are now producing children. How will they be able to train the child?” a user wrote.

“She needs to be arrested,” another user added.

Debbie Ariyo wrote: “This is gross abuse – physical abuse, emotional abuse and child neglect – causing deliberate harm to a child. Terrible!”
