Oluseyi Michaels, co-founder and lead strategist, told TheCable Lifestyle that the goal of the brand is to provide “multiple ways for people to unwind and cool off”.

“The goal has always been to build a platform that makes leisure experiences easily accessible to everyone and we have bundled that into a technology, which is an app. On the CULR app, you can find events to attend, experiences to enjoy, travel packages, and activities that can help you better your lifestyle,” he says.

“If you don’t want to go out, you can find books to read, movies to watch and activities to do with your friends to stay connected. If there are certain lifestyles that you want to explore, like collecting or reading books, the app will help you find people with similar interests and different ways to explore that lifestyle.”

What truly sets the brand apart is its unwavering focus on community engagement. In 2023, CULR showcased its commitment to ensuring seamless relaxation with an array of sensational events and activities.

From self-hosted experiences such as ‘Goof House’ and ‘Mellow Train’ to enriching partner events like ‘Sand Screen by Minji’, ‘Yang and Filo by A Billion Laughs’ — each event was a testament to the company’s dedication to providing unique and cutting-edge leisure options.

Last year also saw the launch of several community-led activities, including CULR Weekends, which equipped members with robust options for leisure activities.

The sense of belonging and collaboration reached new heights as members came together to contribute their ideas and talents in shaping the company’s direction and strategy. Friendships were forged, laughter echoed, and the spirit of camaraderie flourished, creating a vibrant blend of shared memories.

“2023 was more about building a community, curating experiences, and forging collaborative relationships with operators in the leisure and hospitality space,” Michaels says.

Although the primary customers of the company are young people also known as Gen Z and Millennials, CULR’s operations also extend to the corporate world where the company helps to bring fun to the working class community through eclectic team bonding experiences and fun workplace culture consultation, amongst other services.

Having worked with the likes of Boomplay and Figorr, CULR is more than committed to helping companies shape their employee welfare experiences and redefine employee satisfaction.

“We have another part of our brand that is called CULR Corporate, where we host team bonding activities and giftings. Our secondary customers are corporate organizations because they have Gen Zs and Millennials working for them. Through the app, they have an opportunity to make better commitments to their employees,” Michaels says.

The lifestyle tech brand recently teased glimpses of upcoming projects, while promising even more adventure in the new year.

Ayomide Adetomiwa, co-founder and creative lead, says: “We picked up a lot of good insights interacting with our community and collaborating with other leisure experience curators in the past few months”.

With a commitment to extraordinary living, CULR crafts moments that go beyond the ordinary. Through a fusion of leisure and entertainment, the brand aims to inspire individuals to live life to the fullest — the CULR way.
