Kelly Price, American gospel singer, says she died and woke up amid her battle with COVID-19.
In a chat with TMZ, Price said she and her husband had contacted COVID-19 and weren’t permitting visitors at their home.
The Grammy-nominated R&B and gospel singer was earlier reported missing after being admitted to the hospital in August following her diagnosis.
Speaking of the encounter, the songstress narrated how she was flatlined in the ICU as doctors battled to save her life.
“I was never missing. I was in my home, being seen by doctors. Everyone in my family knew where I was,” she said.
“At some point, they lost me. I woke up some days later and the first thing I remember was the team of doctors standing around me and asking if I knew what year it was. I died. I remember waking up in ICU.”
It is understood that Price is being visited severally a week by home help aids as she recovers from prolonged COVID-19.
“I am facing a very uphill battle right now. I have a lot of rehabbing to do before I am able to be what I like to call concert ready again. I suffered a lot of internal damage,” the 48-year-old music star added.
Price, who has had eight studio albums to her name thus far, had lost her grandfather to COVID-19 in 2020.
