According to TMZ, the wedding took place on Sunday at Tribeca 360° in Manhattan.

The star-studded event was attended by Kelly Rowland, Tyler Perry, Robin Roberts, Corey Gamble, Tina Knowles, and Beyonce, among others.

Gloria publicly came out as a lesbian in 2017. Jay Z also showed his support by releasing a song called ‘Smile’ that same year.

In the song, the rapper addressed the challenges his mother had faced as a gay woman, highlighting the societal expectations and prejudices she had to endure.

He added that what matters to him the most is seeing his mother happy and finding genuine love.

“Mama had four kids, but she is a lesbian / Had to pretend so long that she is a thespian / Had to hide in the closet, so she medicates / Society shame and the pain was too much to take,” the lyrics read.

“Cried tears of joy when you fell in love / Don’t matter to me if it is him or her / I just want to see you smile through all the hate.”

Before her relationship with Wilshire, Gloria was a single parent.

In 2013, Jay Z revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair that Adnis Reeves, his dad, had abandoned their family when he was just 11 years old.

Gloria is the CEO of the Shawn Carter Foundation, which was established in 2002.
