The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says candidates are now free to access their Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results on-line.

Fabian Benjamin, the board’s head, media and information, said this during an interview with NAN on Wednesday night in Lagos.

According to him, already, over 1.5 million candidates that sat for the UTME had accessed their results, using the result checker code (55019).

He said that the board had commenced posting the results to the portal, adding that they were now also free to go on-line, view and print their results.

“Candidates can now check their results on the portal,” he said.

“They must first log in their profile and then, click on ‘check UTME Examination Results’.”

Since the board announced the release of its results, candidates have decried the technical challenges faced when trying to check their results via phone.

The spokesman, however, dismissed rumours that the result checker code (55019) was not functional.

Is-haq Oloyede, JAMB registrar, had revealed that the board withheld the results of 34,120 for various infractions during the examination across the nation. He also added that 15,145 results were withheld for further clarification.

The exam body also released a list of suspended computer-based test (CBT) centres following reports of massive examination malpractices.
