Firefighters use ‘well water’ to quell library inferno at University of Jos

The University of Jos library was engulfed in flames on Saturday night.

The library located at the permanent site of the university was aggressively destroyed by fire as students took to social media to share photos of the fire.

A student who spoke to TheCable Lifestyle said the firefighters went to “fetch water from a well” in an attempt to quench the flames.

In the process of retrieving water, the rope being used got severed and fell inside the well.

A joint effort from concerned students and the firefighters eventually quelled the flames after fetching multiple buckets of water.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
