Iyanya Mbuk, the Nigerian singer, has yet again opened up on the challenges he faced over actress Yvonne Nelson’s cheating claims.

The ‘Oreo’ singer had an affair with the Ghanaian film star between 2012 and 2015.

Last year, Nelson unveiled an eponymous memoir where she claimed her relationship with Iyanya fell out because the singer cheated on her with actress Tonto Dikeh.

Reacting, Iyanya said what Nelson wrote about him in the book made it difficult for him to date any woman.

He added that it “almost made me lose a relationship”.

But in a recent interview with Beat FM, Iyanya revealed that his girlfriend broke up with him after the book went viral.

When asked if he was still in a relationship, Iyanya replied: “The person left”.

He said Nelson’s allegations have made parents of his prospective girlfriends see him “as a cheat”.

“That is the price I paid for being me. Do you know how many nice babes I have met? Once you mention my name, either the sister or cousin they will say ‘that guy that broke this person’s heart’,” he added.

“I am single now like this. Not because I enjoy being single but because just being me comes with a lot of madness.

“You see a pretty girl. Gets into a relationship and once you pull up the family goes ‘You? The musician?… ‘ I am taking my time.”
