Iyanya Mbuk says he still thinks about Yvonne Nelson, the actress who was his ex-lover.
Iyanya and Nelson started dating in 2012 but their relationship hit the rocks in 2015.
Nelson released a memoir titled ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson’ where she detailed her relationship with Iyanya.
She alleged that the singer cheated on her with Tonto Dikeh, a fellow actress, hence their breakup.
Iyanya reacted to the allegation, saying he would respond later.
In a recent interview with Cool FM, the singer was asked if he still misses Nelson.
Iyanya admitted that he does and said they still have a good relationship as friends.
“Of course. I mean, once in a while, you just reminisce and miss good people. It is what it is. We are cool,” he said.
Iyanya rose to fame after winning the first season of Project Fame West Africa.
He released his debut album in 2011.
The singer co-founded the record label MMMG with Ubi Franklin, the music executive, the same year.
He has carved out a niche for himself in Nigerian music and gained considerable recognition.
In July 2022, Iyanya spoke of how he took a four-year hiatus from music for his mental health.
In June 2023, he released a six-track EP titled ‘Love and Trust’.
