Odumodublvck, the Nigerian rapper, says winning the Hip-Hop category at this year’s Headies will mean a lot to him.
In a recent chat with Cool FM, the rapper added that although he will like to win the category, losing it “will not invalidate my impact on the culture”.
“The Hip-Hop category will mean the most to me if I win it, but at the end of the day, it is down to the voters.
“The fact that we are in the building, the fact that we are nominated is what counts. Like I told my guys, the other guys that are nominated have also won before.
“Me winning does not invalidate the other guys. And if they win it, it does not invalidate my impact on the culture.”
The Headies Academy released the nomination list for this year’s award ceremony last week.
The rapper bagged two nominations in the ‘Rookie of the Year‘ and ‘Best Rap Single’ categories.
Odumodublvck, born Tochukwu Ojogwu, is known for his stage performance and genre-blend.
In 2022, he signed a record deal with NATIVE Records, in partnership with Def Jam Recordings.
He released ‘Declan Rice’ — a chart-topping single named after the English footballer.
Last Saturday, Arsenal unveiled the former West Ham captain with the hit song.
