Femi Otedola, oil magnate and businessman, has announced his entry into the Twitter community, saying it is “better late than never”.

The billionaire said he has received lessons about the social media platform from his daughters.

“I am pleased to announce that I have finally joined Twitter,” the father of four said in a statement made available to TheCable Lifestyle.

“The importance of Twitter as a social utility cannot be overemphasised. I understand I am a bit late to the party but better late than never.

“After receiving some lessons from my daughters, I decided it was time to connect with the world on a personal level.

“I look forward to joining the conversation, tweeting and retweeting a lot about the issues that are most dear to the populace and of course keeping you updated on my activities. You can follow my handle @realfemiotedola.”

Temi Otedola, one of the daughters of the philanthropist, tweeted at her father saying, “welcome to Twitter papa”.

Tolani, another of Otedola’s daughters, tweeted, “The man himself finally joined the Twitter universe! @realfemiotedola Welcome Papa bear”.

Otedola recently became a hot topic on Instagram when he posted a video of himself commuting on a public bus in London.

At the moment, he follows only his three daughters on Twitter and has over 2,000 followers.

He is yet to tweet.
