A woman who claimed she was hit by a microphone that Cardi B hurled into the crowd at a Las Vegas concert has filed a police report for “battery”.

On Saturday, the US rapper, in retaliation, threw a microphone at a concertgoer who tossed a drink at her while performing on stage.

The incident occurred while the singer was performing ‘Bodak Yellow’ at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas, US.

The fan had raised a white, decorated cup and tossed liquid in the 30-year-old rapper’s direction.

Cardi B immediately reacted by throwing her microphone at the fan after the liquid splashed on her face and body.

Some officials quickly attended to the situation by taking the concertgoer away from the venue.

A day after the incident, Variety quoted the Las Vegas police as saying the alleged victim reported she was “struck by an item that was thrown from the stage”.

In a statement by the police, no arrests or citations have been issued.

“On July 30, 2023, an individual came into an LVMPD police station to report a battery,” the statement reads in part.

“According to the victim, she was attending an event on July 29, 2023, at a property located in the 3500 block of Las Vegas Boulevard. During a concert, she was struck by an item that was thrown from the stage.”

It remains unclear whether the woman who threw the drink at Cardi B and the person who reported getting hit with the microphone is the same individual.

Cardi B is the latest performer to be struck on-stage over the past few months.

In June, rapper Bebe Rexha sustained a facial injury after a fan threw a phone at her during her New York concert.

An overzealous fan had also slapped Ava Max, the US singer, during her performance in Los Angeles.
