Darey Alade, a showbiz mogul, has tapped Patoranking, a Nigerian vocalist, for a new collaborative track titled ‘Jojo’ — ahead of his next album.

The new song, which was released on Friday, comes alongside a music video wherein the crooner foretells the end of the COVID -19 pandemic, which has claimed close to a million lives across the globe.

It also comes after ‘Jah Guide Me‘, a track that broke his five-year hiatus; drew on the crooner’s Yorùbá background for storytelling; and fused soulful R&B vibes with punches of Afrobeats.

Over the years, Darey has delved into various aspects of the entertainment industry following the release of his last album ‘Naked’, which featured Asa, Olamide, and the Soweto Gospel Choir.

In an interview with TheCable Lifestyle, Darey had said: “Early days… I mean everyone had to pay their dues. We were hustling, doing free shows.

“…collecting peanuts just to put the name out there. For me, I was doing multiple things from an early age. I was singing. It’s either I join a choir or a group. There were groups like the Chordwebs.

“I’d later study music in school, do theatre; creative arts. We were doing acting and dance as well. Then I worked on the radio, worked on TV, hosted shows. I mean, I would say I’ve paid my dues.

“I was creative as far back as when I started. I learned by being inspired by others, officially or unofficially. You just gain from other people’s experiences. It’s been an interesting journey so far.”
