Adekunle Gold, the Nigerian singer, has released a new track titled ‘The Life I Chose’.


The music star announced the release of the song via social media on Wednesday.

In ‘The Life I Chose’, Adekunle Gold serenades listeners with reflections on the sudden surge in attention accompanying his success.

He also expresses gratitude to God for sustaining him and affirms his commitment to living a life devoid of hardship.


“All of a sudden everybody act like they love me, men dey active, if you fuck with my team, it is risky,” he sings.

“If no be you baba dem for don dey laugh me for their corner, shout out to me me me, I stay believing, everyday is a pay day amen.

“This is the life I chose, this is the life I chose, aye mo wa jẹ, mi o wa jẹya, this is the life I chose.”


Adekunle Gold rose to fame with the release of his hit song ‘Sade’ and a high-life cover of One Direction’s ‘Story of My Life’.

Throughout his career, Gold has received numerous awards and recognition for his talent.

In March 2023, the singer was signed to Def Jam Recordings.

He also owns a record label called Afro Urban Records.
