The Afrobeats star recently partnered with United Masters, a US distribution company, to launch Nine+ Records, a new label.

Davido said he aims to expand the label beyond Afrobeats to reach global audiences.

He also cited his passion for nurturing emerging talent and addressing the challenges of young artistes in the music industry as motivations for the partnership.

“Oh yeah, everything. R&B, trap, etc. I am going to start in Africa but I can see us going all the way,” he said.

In a post via his Twitter page, Davido said that all the artistes signed to DMW will be transferred to the new label.

“All DMW artistes would be moved to Nine+ Records. Clearing the air,” he said.

Davido rose to prominence following the release of ‘Dami Duro’, his hit song, in 2012.

In April 2016, the singer established DMW.

The record label has served as home to music talents such as Mayorkun, Peruzzi, and Dremo.
Other artistes who signed to DMW include Yonda, Idowest, DJ ECool, Danagog, B-Red, Deekay, May D, Deinde, Ayanfe, Liya, and SayTheyCallMESG.

In March, Davido rebranded his label as DMW 2.0 and unveiled two new artistes Morravey and Logos Olori.
