‘Ife,’ which means “love” in the Yoruba language, was directed by Nyaiedu Ikpe-Etim, the sister of actress Nse Ikpe-Etim.

The film was released in July 2020. One of the highlights of the movie was when the two women were seen naked and lying in bed, stroking each other’s hair and sharing various individual experiences about their conservative backgrounds.

The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) in August 2020 warned of the film’s release in Nigeria.
