Charles Oputa, an entertainer better known as Charly Boy, has criticised Innocent ‘2baba’ Idibia for not lending his voice to the fray of protesters demanding that President Muhammadu Buhari resume or resign.

In the past week, Charly Boy has led a number of protests tagged ‘OurMumuDonDo’ in Abuja.

Although the protest has not recorded mass participation, it attracted the attention of Nigerians whenever it was staged and even earned the participation of celebrities like Jim Iyke.

Speaking hours after suspending the protest on Wednesday, Charly Boy said he is unhappy with Idibia for failing to “stand up to the injustices against the youth and the masses of this country”.

Charly Boy made his displeasure known in a recorded video message posted on Instagram.

Speaking in pidgin English, he said: “This message is for Tuface. As I no fit reach you my guy, I say make I talk to you right here. My guy, I no happy with you. I can’t lie.”

The entertainer said although 2baba was forgiven to calling off the One Voice Nigeria protest in February, Nigerians understood his reasons but have been rather surprised that he’s crawled into a hole ever since.

“A beacon of hope like you dey suegbe when Nigerian people need you pass,” he said.

He asked if the ‘African Queen’ singer was unaware that he collapsed after being tear gassed by the police on the second day of the protest.

Charly Boy said the least 2baba could have done was to encourage the youth involved in the protest.

He added: “Those who fold their hands when the nation is heading south… they are the problem.”
