Damini Ogulu, Nigeria’s Afrofusion singer better known as Burna Boy, has begun year 2020 with his next musical outing dubbed ‘Abidjan Giant Show.’

The event is expected to hold on January 11, in Côte d’Ivoire.

The award-winning singer, who arguably shattered the records of the country’s entertainment scene in 2019 — making him a topic of discourse in several showbiz reviews — took to his social media page on Thursday to break news.

“11th January Côte d’Ivoire,” he wrote on Twitter alongside a short video clip.

The less than one-minute promotional video of the upcoming event contained details about the show majorly in French.

The Afrofusion singer has become a sensation in the country’s music industry ever since he dropped ‘African Giant, his award-winning project.

The 19-track project saw him snagged a nomination for the 2020 Grammys’ ‘Best International Album’ category — slated for January 26, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

He has also recorded huge international presence with several renowned figures expressing delight at his songs.

‘Anybody’, his song recently featured on Barack Obama’s favorite music of 2019, alongside ‘Iron Man’, a single by Rema, Mavin Record’s singer.

The music superstar was also at the centre of several controversies.

One of such is the controversy which led to the cancellation of a South African show he was to headline after he refused to apologised following his swear-laden words which included a threat to boycott South Africa during the heat of xenophobic attacks on Nigerians.
