Damini Ogulu, Nigerian Afro-fusion singer better known as Burna Boy, has been nominated for the 2020 Grammy Awards.

The nominees for the 62nd Grammy Awards were announced on Wednesday, with Lizzo leading the pack with eight nods while Billie Eillish and Lil Nas X followed close behind with six nominations each.

Other nominees include Lana Del Rey, Bon Iver, Vampire Weekend, Tyler, the Creator, Big Thief, Thom Yorke, The 1975, Rosalía, Brittany Howard, and others.

African Giant‘, Burna Boy’s latest album, got nominated in the Best World Album category.

With the nomination, Burna Boy joins the likes of King Sunny Ade, Seun Kuti and Femi Kuti, who had been selected for that category at the Grammy Awards.

The Grammys take place on January 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
