Bobrisky, Nigerian internet personality and crossdresser, has lamented the loss of over N19 million spent on putting together his birthday to a disruptive raid by the police.
TheCable Lifestyle had reported how Zubairu Muazu, the Lagos state commissioner of police, had ordered a “water-tight security” at venues in the state where the self-acclaimed transgender planned to celebrate his 28th birthday, to prevent a potential “breach of public peace”.
In the message addressed to the police divisions in Elemoro, Epe, Victoria Island, and Alausa on Saturday, Muazu had directed that, should there be a breakdown of law, the premises should be shut down immediately.
However, in a new twist, security operatives in the state were said to have prevented Bobrisky from celebrating his birthday after they stormed the venue in Lekki, where the main birthday ceremony was scheduled to hold.
In his reaction to the invasion, the Snapchat celebrity took to the platform to lament the loss of “over N19 million” used to organize the event.
“Over 19 million just went like that lol. Thank God for life,” Bobrisky wrote.
In another post, he apologised to friends and family who showed up for his party.
“I’m a hard rock, nothing can break me. Love you all,” he wrote.
“I know it’s painful especially to those of you who travelled to Nigeria to celebrate me. Don’t worry, I got you all.”
Bala Elkana, the public relations officer of the state police, also confirmed that the police sealed up the venue.
“The operation is currently ongoing. It is true that we have sealed up the venue of the party based on some intelligence,” he said.
Bobrisky has always made the headlines for several controversial reasons, including claims about severing his genitals and the investigation of a Nollywood movie he featured in over suspicions of immorality.
