BNXN, the Afrobeat singer, has revealed why Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy are the top-ranking musicians in Nigeria.

In a chat with 3FM 92.7, a Ghanaian-based radio, BNXN said the three giants are above their contemporaries because of their unique personalities which they have been able to manage very well beyond music.

The singer said the manner in which they handle criticism has earned their longevity in the industry.

BNXN described Burna Boy as someone who doesn’t hide his feelings in the face of criticism. He said Wizkid “thrives off his silence” while Davido carries everyone around him along.

“I feel like for longevity in this game? You need something more than just the music. Nobody is asking you to be controversial all the time. You need a personality that people can easily recognize,” he said.

“For instance, Burna Boy, if you came across him on the internet, he’s going to tell you his mind. Even if he hears anything about him on the radio, he’s going to come on the internet and reply. It’s just his personality.

“Then there’s Wizkid. He thrives on his silence. That’s a personality on its own. You know you won’t get a response.

“There’s also Davido, who literally shows you that his affluence is used to carry everybody along. Not a single person is left behind in his team.

“This is why these people are giants. Even if they go silent, you already know them for music.”

Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido are considered to be the biggest artistes in Nigeria in contemporary times, with their fans often divided over who is superior.

The singers have also thrown digs at each other on different occasions.

But in July 2022, Wizkid offered an olive branch to Davido and Burna Boy after he downplayed the rivalry between them.

“I want to tell you tonight, Starboy, I gat love for Burna Boy, I gat love for Davido…and I want to thank you the fans for supporting us,” he said at the 2022 Afronation music festival in Portugal.
