Phyna won the 2022 edition of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality TV show at its finale over the weekend.

The reality star defeated her rivals to clinch the N100 million grand prize at the last eviction show on Sunday.

This made her the second female housemate to win the show after Mercy Eke in 2019.

To crown Phyna as the 2022 winner, the viewers portrayed an interesting voting pattern.

Phyna pulled 40.74% of the votes to clinch her win, followed by Bryann who is the first runner-up with 26.74%.

Bella amassed 15.78% of the votes while Adekunle followed closely with 12.36%. Chichi and Daniella were left with 2.49% and 1.89% respectively.

This year’s grand prize is the highest since the show debuted in 2006.

N50 million is the cash prize while the other N50 million is an estimation of prizes from the sponsors.

It is understood that the grand prize will be presented to the reality star on Tuesday, October 4.

A total of 28 housemates participated in this season titled ‘Level Up’ edition.

The seventh season commenced with a double premiere on July 23 and 24 and ran for a total of 72 days.

White Money won last year’s edition of the show and went home with the N90 million grand prize.

In 2020, Olamilekan ‘Laycon’ Agbeleshe emerged as the winner of the BBNaija season five.
