Chizzy Alichi, the Nigerian actress, has lost her father.

The actress announced her father’s demise via Instagram on Saturday.

In a caption, she described her father as her “first love” and said his death has “turned her life upside down”.

Alichi said she finds solace in the memories of fulfilling his wishes while he was alive.

She also requests prayers as she navigates her difficult period.

“My father is gone. Words fail me. My father, my first love. I am broken, my whole life is turned upside down, this was not our plan,” the actress wrote.

“Father, how can you die without carrying my children? This is too much for me but I cannot question God.

“I am glad I gave you almost everything you have ever wished for when you were alive.

“Rest in peace, father. Please come back to me as soon as possible.

“I do not understand what is going on anymore, first call in the morning and it is the news of your death, can I ever pick up any call in the morning again? Please say a prayer for me.”

Fans and colleagues of the actress have taken to the comment section of the post to offer their condolences.

Alichi joined Nollywood in 2010 and has since starred in numerous films.

Her pivotal role in the 2016 movie ‘Akaraoku’ directed by Yul Edochie marked a turning point in her career.

In 2017, Alichi made headlines for building a house for her parents.
