Adeniyi Johnson, the Nigerian actor, has pleaded with the police to be lenient with Trinity Guy, the embattled skit maker.

Trinity Guy came under fire after a video of him asking a minor “inappropriate questions” about his manhood surfaced online.

Amid the backlash, the Oyo state police command had summoned him for interrogation.

On Monday, the comedian was arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and sexual abuse as well as exploitation.

The court had also ordered his remand at the Agodi correctional facility in Ibadan, the state capital.

Adetuyibi P.O, the magistrate, also remanded Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and Rofiat, 29 — parents of the minor in the viral video.

The development has continued to elicit reactions, with many expressing mixed views over the matter.

Weighing into the matter, Johnson, in an Instagram post, urged the police to “temper justice with mercy”.

“Dear Nigerian police force and every other of us agree that our brother did what is wrong and absurd!! All I am pleading for is to temper justice with mercy,” he wrote.

“Please @iamtrinityguy is a young man looking for what to eat legally but he incidentally fell on the wrong side of the law!!! Please be merciful as I know he has learnt already”.
