Meshach Ogwuche Agaba, a student from Government Science Secondary School, Pyakasa/Maitama in Abuja, has reportedly been electrocuted inside the school premises.
The incident was said to have occurred last Wednesday around 7:30 am.
Agaba was said to have stepped on an electric cable that tripped off a pole inside the school vicinity.
He was thereafter rushed to Maitama district hospital for treatment, where he eventually passed on.
It was gathered that the deceased student was trying to fetch water close to the wall with barbed wire on the school premises.
Josephine Adeh, the FCT police spokesperson, confirmed to TheCable Lifestyle, that the incident is still under investigation.
The police PRO added that updates will be shared with the public as soon as the investigation is completed.
“Can’t speak on matters under investigation but when we conclude our investigation we will communicate back,” she said.
