Nigerian fashion designers, stylists, fashionistas, and artistes are in contention to win on Friday at the 2016 edition of Abryanz Style & Fashion Awards.

Jennifer Obayuwana and Mai Atafo were nominated in the continental style & fashion influencer category while Jidenna, Ugo Mozie, and Lolu ESQ were nominated in the ‘crossing borders with fashion’ category.

Wizkid, D’banj, Lola Rae, Tiwa Savage and Mo’Cheddah were nominated in the West Africa’s (male and female) most stylish artiste category.

Other Nigerian nominees are Sharon Ojong, Noble Igwe, Fisayo Longe, Akin Faminu, Adebayo Oke-Lawal, Hakeem Adeyinka Balogun, among others.

Vimbai Mutinhiri, a Zimbabwean actress, model and television personality, is set to host the prestigious fashion & style awards alongside Idris Sultan, Tanzanian media personality.

Vimbai, whose profile in the African continent is on a steady rise, recently hosted the Ghana Movie Awards 2016.

At the recently-concluded Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week, Vimbai explored the outfits worn by guests and participants through a show tagged ‘Front Row Diaries’.

The media personality was born in Harare, Zimbabwe but raised in Belgrade, Serbia and in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards is scheduled to take place at the Kampala Serena Hotel, Uganda.
