Burna Boy has taken a swipe at fans of Wizkid for allegedly countering his claim on the removal of history from the schools’ curricula in Nigeria.

On Tuesday, the ‘African Giant’ crooner shared a clip of Wole Soyinka, the Nobel laureate, faulting the non-teaching of history in Nigerian schools.

He also shared a clip of his previous interview wherein he raised similar concerns.

In the past year, stakeholders have continued to lament the removal of history studies from primary and secondary school curricula.

Although some states have reintroduced the study of the subject, concerns remain over the depth of what is being taught as history in schools.

In a post accompanying the video, Burna Boy said when he initially raised the issue some months ago, fans of the ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner — better known as Wizkid FC — accused him of lying.

The singer also claimed Wizkid would not have “idiots” as fans if “true history” is taught in their respective schools.

He shared a picture of a Twitter user believed to be Wizkid’s fan who opposed his view at the time.

“… I said this same thing a while ago but Wizkid Delusional Twitter fc said I was lying. Maybe if your true history was taught in your schools Wizkid would have a smarter Twitter FC instead of idiots like this,” he wrote.

“Whether you know it or not, All our suffering stems from our miseducation. We do not know who we truly are or the strength we truly have.”

Burna Boy and Wizkid are among Nigeria’s biggest musicians in contemporary times, with their fans often divided over who is superior.

In July, Wizkid played down the perceived rivalry between them as well as Davido. He also declared that he has nothing but love for them.
