The Lagos state police command has commenced an investigation into allegations of bullying and threats to life leveled against Davido by Tiwa Savage.
Tiwa Savage and Davido are among the most prominent musicians out of Africa.
But on Tuesday, Savage filed a petition detailing alleged harassment following her interaction with Sophia Momodu, Davido’s ex-partner.
According to the petition, the tension began on December 23, when Savage featured Momodu in an Instagram story post.
The post seemingly triggered Davido, leading to accusations of disrespectful verbal attacks and alleged physical threats directed towards Savage.
The petition further expresses Savage’s concerns about her safety and requests the police to hold Davido accountable should any harm befall her or her family.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson, confirmed receiving receipt of the petition on Wednesday.
He added that an investigation has begun.
“I can confirm to you that we have received the petition and investigation has commenced,” Hundeyin said.
Before the petition, TeeBillz, Savage’s ex-husband took to social media to call out Davido for allegedly disrespecting his family.
Although Davido has been very active on social media, the singer has remained reticent on the allegations.
On Tuesday, he teased a new song in a recent tweet on X.
“I just recorded the hardest verse EVER !!!!!” the tweet reads.
