Tems, the Nigerian singer, has featured in the soundtrack of the ‘Black Panther‘ sequel trailer.
Marvel Studios released the trailer of the much-awaited project titled ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ in the early hours of Sunday.
In the trailer, Tems delivers a soulful rendition of Bob Marley’s hit song ‘No Woman, No Cry’ before transitioning to ‘Alright’, the 2015 single by Kendrick Lamar.
The trailer shows a nation and family mourning Chadwick Boseman, who played King T’Challa in the 2018 hit movie directed by Ryan Coogler.
Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassettz) could be heard screaming “I am queen of the most powerful nation in the world, and my entire family is gone. Have I not given everything?”
Boseman died at the age of 43 in 2020 after a long battle with colon cancer.
The sequel, also directed by Coogler, is scheduled to be released on November 11, 2022.
In the forthcoming movie, Marvel did not recast T’Challa’s role but retained several cast from the first installment.
‘Black Panther’ was built around a fictional African country and featured a predominantly black cast film.
The movie shattered many box office records, and set new ones across the world.
The development further stretches Tems’ impressive career run in the global music industry.
The ‘Damages’ crooner gained international prominence after featuring in ‘Essence’, the hit song by Wizkid.
