Cheque and Fireboy, Nigerian fast-rising singers, have put out the visuals for ‘History’, their chart-topping track.

The pair took to their individual social media pages on Thursday to announce the release of the visuals.

The audio, which was released on April 8, has been raking in millions of streams on digital streaming platforms, such as Audiomack and Spotify.

The less than four-minute video, directed by TG Tomori, Nigerian video director, sees the singers dressed as basketball players in college. In another scene, they appear to have gotten into an altercation with a group of antagonists.

The transitioning continues as the musicians change into red and white cooperate attire after which Cheque is shot by one of the bullies he had encountered earlier in the day.

As he drops on the floor, with blood gushing from his shoulder to match the colour of his waist jacket, he continues singing the insightful lyrics sonorously.

“Me and you we got history. When I’m gone, you gon’ miss me. I’ve been down for a long long time. I can’t take it oh, no more time. Only thinking ’bout victory Can’t f**k with anything that’s contradictory. Boy Cheque never satisfied. What is dead may never die,” the lyrics read.

Both singers have continued to blaze the trail since they ventured into the country’s music scene with beautiful offerings.

The duo started their career while in the university, with Cheque leaning towards trap music, a modern variety of the traditional rap, while Fireboy went for the Afropop genre.
