Burna Boy, the Afro-fusion singer, has put out the visuals for ‘City Boys’, one of the songs off ‘I Told Them’, his latest album.
The singer announced the release of the song’s visuals via his Instagram page on Friday.
The music video, which runs for nearly three minutes, is directed by 20K.
The visuals present a vivid representation of the song’s lyrics, giving viewers a peek into the realm of the “city boys”.
Burna Boy released ‘I Told Them’ on August 25.
The 15-track project enlisted J. Cole and Dave, the rappers, and Seyi Vibez, the Nigerian singer.
The tracks in the album consist of ‘I Told Them’, ‘Normal’, ‘On Form’, ‘Giza’ ft. Seyi Vibez, ‘Tested, Approved & Trusted’, and ‘Dey Play’.
Other tracks are ‘Thanks’ ft. J. Cole, ‘Cheat On Me’ ft. Dave, ‘Virgil’, ‘Jewels’, and ‘If I’m Lying’.
Speaking of the project, the Grammy-award winner said ‘I Told Them’ showcases a side of himself that is not often seen in the public.
“It kind of showed me exactly the way I wanted to express what I was feeling and what my unit was feeling. The spirit of my unit. Just put that in because this is every day,” he said.
“This is a side that people do not really get to see because I do not really care for anyone to see. I have fun with it like this. But I felt like this time, this is a way… How do I put it?”
‘I Told Them’ follows after the success of ‘Love, Damini’, Burna Boy’s sixth album released in 2022.
