Gilbert Bani, Nigerian rapper better known as A-Q, has put out an action-themed video for ‘Breathe’, his recent song wherein he featured Chike, singer and songwriter.

The song, which was released in May alongside other works on ‘Golden‘, A-Q’s new project, has quickly become fans’ favourite as it continues to get massive radio airplay across the country.

But in the music video, which was released on Friday, the duo are abducted at gunpoint by suit-clad gang-bangers.

It then cuts to a scene where they are tied to each other, with blood trickling down their faces from consistent beating.

The discomfort is almost palpable as Chike pours the emotion into the rendition of the chorus: “I just want to breathe, need some time to breathe/ Live my life so free, no one chasing me/ I just want to breathe that’s all I need to stay alive/ I just want to breathe, that’s all I need to stay alive/ Live my life so free, no one chasing me, I just want to breathe.”
