The legs of Nollywood actor Victor Olaotan are not due for amputation, his publicist, Demola Sanyaolu, has informed TheCable Lifestyle.
The veteran actor has been in the hospital since being involved in a motor accident last year.
A recent online report suggested that his legs may be amputated as a result of the accident.
While the report had said “only family members, few friends and colleagues” were aware of the supposedly imminent amputation, Sanyaolu said he still spoke to Olaotan’s wife Saturday morning and stressed that “there is nothing of such”.
He said the actor had been moved from intensive care unit, where he was placed after the accident.
“There’s nothing of that nature. Uncle Victor is in top form. He has been moved from ICU. He’s now under proper care,” he said.
“The family is really displeased with the story. Nothing is wrong with his leg.”
Olaotan was involved in a ghastly car accident in the wee hours of October 31, 2016.
The Three Wise Men star was driving to a movie set when the accident took place around Apple Junction, in Festac, Lagos.
Olaotan was rushed to a hospital in Surulere where he was put in a medically-induced coma, so that his medication could work faster.
Sanyaolu had in February informed TheCable Lifestyle that Olaotan was being closely monitored closely.
“He is fine and will be discharged soon,” he had said.
Olaotan is most famous for his role as ‘Fred Ade Williams’ in television drama Tinsel.
