Olaotan was involved in a ghastly car accident in the wee hours of October 31, 2016.

The Three Wise Men star was driving to a movie set when the accident took place around Apple Junction, in Festac, Lagos.

Olaotan was rushed to a hospital in Surulere where he was put in a medically-induced coma, so that his medication could work faster.

His publicist, Demola Sanyaolu, informed TheCable Lifestyle that he has remained in hospital for over 100 days so that he could be “monitored closely”.

“He is fine and will be discharged soon. He is of age and needs to be in the hospital environment so that he can be monitored closely,” he said.

Sanyaolu further revealed that Olaotan was taking medication for “pains, shock and other health challenge related with the auto accident just to ensure he is stable”.

Victor Olaotan started acting in 1959 when he represented his school in a stage play, Gods Are Not To Blame.

The veteran studied drama at the University of Ibadan, Obafemi Awolowo University and Rockets University in the United States.

In an interview with TheCable Lifestyle before his accident, the 64-year-old actor had said the quality of scripting would determine if he would participate in a movie project.

He, however, noted that N10 million was the price tag that could motivate him to feature in a movie.

“To be in a movie now, you could offer me N10 million, that’s it. If you flash N10 million in my face I’m in your movie already”, said Olaotan.

“The script matters a lot. If the script is wishy-washy, we will rewrite it on set,” he added.

Victor Olaotan is most famous for his role as Fred Ade-Williams, the lead character in television drama, Tinsel.
