Diddy, an American rapper, is an ex-boyfriend to Cassie.

On Thursday, Cassie filed a lawsuit accusing her ex of rape and abuse.

She alleged that Diddy trapped her in a cycle of abuse and violence for a decade.

The lawsuit labelled the musician a “serial domestic abuser, who would regularly beat and kick Ms Ventura, leaving black eyes, bruises, and blood”.

Diddy denied the allegations, calling them “offensive and outrageous”.

He also accused Cassie of trying to extort him for $30 million.

In a statement obtained by the New York Times on Friday, the pair said they had reached an agreement to resolve the case.

However, the terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” she said.

“I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

Diddy and Cassie’s relationship began in 2007.

They made their public debut as a couple in 2012.
