Uche Ebere to Kiekie: Your reason for splitting bills with husband wrong

Uche Ebere, the Nigerian actress, has expressed her disagreement with Kiekie over her reason for splitting bills with her husband.

In a recent chat with Toke Makinwa, Kiekie revealed she split house rent with Tunji Ilori, her husband.

The skit maker also said expenses are shared to protect her interests in case of a divorce.

Kiekie said splitting the rent makes her feel more comfortable in her own home. She added that her husband cannot tell her to get out of the house during an altercation.

Ebere, however, disagreed with Kiekie’s opinion in the comment section of a blog post.

The actress said adopting a mindset with a backup plan in the case of a divorce could have a negative impact on a marriage.

Ebere said marriage should be built on positivity and trust rather than anticipating a potential separation.

“She spoilt the whole good points when she said ‘when they are splitting as in divorce or separation, the man will carry this while she carries that’,” she wrote.

“So she is in the marriage and having the mindset of divorce or separation anytime which is not supposed to be so. Build your home on positivity and that is it. God is on the wheel.

“So wrong mindset, having a mind to fall in something something automatically the person will fail at the long run. Devil is really destroying this generation, may God have mercy.”
