Tems, the Nigerian singer and songwriter, says she would be releasing her sophomore extended play (EP) next week.
The 26-year-old songstress announced the EP on her Twitter page on Monday — although she did not give a precise date of release.
Tems also appreciated the massive support from her fans while adding that it was time to give them another body of work.
“My beautiful gang, thank you for the massive love you’ve shown me, it’s too plenty,” she wrote.
“Honestly believe me when I say I baaaaaad. New EP out next fu**king week.”
The ‘Mr Rebel’ singer had released ‘For Broken Ears’, her 7-track debut EP, in 2020, which attracted widespread acceptance both in Africa and across the world.
Since then, Tems, better known as Temilade Openiyi, has continued to pull the strings of fame in the music industry.
She recently attracted unprecedented reception for her effort on ‘Essence’, a hit single off ‘Made In Lagos’, Wizkid’s fourth album, which has now gained international acceptance.
On July 12, the song debuted at no 82 on the US Billboards Hot 100 chart, becoming the first Nigerian song to achieve the feat. It also became the most searched song on Shazam, a US entertainment app.
The ‘Try Me’ crooner then featured on ‘Fountains’, the 16th track off ‘Certified Lover Boy’, an album by Drake, the popular Canadian singer, which was released September 3.
