Seyi Law, the comedian, has dismissed the recent claim by Eedris Abdulkareem, the ace rapper, that his “biggest mistake was supporting” President Bola Tinubu.

Last year, Law endorsed Tinubu as his preferred presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections.

He later alleged death threats against Tiwaloluwa Aletile, his daughter, following his political choice.

Speaking on the state of the economy on the Honest Bunch podcast, Eedris alleged that he was recently at an event where Law revealed that people have been cursing him for supporting Tinubu.

The rapper claimed that when he asked the comedian how he was coping with the current economic hardship, he replied that “I messed up”.

“I was like Seyi how do you cope now, he was like my brother I messed up. And no be sey him collect anything. He said he made the biggest mistake,” Eedris said in pidgin English.

“I said why you no make mistake. You no know person you go dey stand for am. No be person wey you know you go stand for?”

Reacting to the post via X, Law said he “never made such” a claim.

“Eedris na person wey I love, but this is not true abeg. @iamshortfamily, when I talk this one for your show?” he wrote.

On Monday, Seyi wrote an open letter to the president via his X handle. The comedian said although he is an ardent supporter of Tinubu, “I won’t hesitate to criticise you”.

He also urged the president to fulfill the promises made during last year’s campaign.
