Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese professional footballer, has become the first person to reach 300 million followers on Instagram.
The five-time Balon D’or winner achieved the feat on Friday — about a year after he became the first person to amass 200m followers on the platform.
The achievement came off the back of another one he ticked earlier in the week when the Portugal national team captain became the all-time top scorer in European Championship history.
Ronaldo’s late brace against Hungary in his country’s group F opener of Euro 2020 put him above Mitchel Platini as the best goalscorer in the history of the competition.

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United forward also moved onto 106 international goals, three shy of Iranian striker Ali Daei’s all-time record international goals tally of 109.
Ronaldo is followed by Dwayne Johnson, American actor, who has about 246 million followers while Ariana Grande, an American songstress, took the third spot with more than 244 million followers.
Kim Kardashian’s over 229 million followers put her in fifth just ahead of Lionel Messi who has about 218 million people following him.
