Last week was eventful in showbiz. TheCable Lifestyle examines the top entertainment stories that got tongues wagging in the past seven days.
RIHANNA ANNOUNCES SECOND PREGNANCY
The Barbadian singer announced she is pregnant with her second child at the 2023 Super Bowl.
The halftime show of Rihanna at this year’s Super Bowl was highly anticipated. But the singer surprised her fans after showing off her baby bump.
Clad in a half-zipped bright red baggy jumpsuit, the event marked Rihanna’s first live performance in seven years and her first as a mother.
The mother of one began the iconic event by hovering high above the field at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Rihanna sang some of her hit songs including ‘We Found Love,’ ‘Where Have You Been,’ ‘Diamonds’ and ‘Work.’
TONTO DIKEH AND EX-HUSBAND RESUME FIGHT OVER SON
Tonto Dikeh and Olakunle Churchill resumed their heated war of words on Instagram over Omodayo King, their son.
The pair tied the knot in 2015 but the union ended controversially two years later.
On King’s birthday, Churchill had taken to social media to lavish his son with praises.
The post was, however, not well received by the actress who described her ex-husband as a “deadbeat dad” and a “mere donor”.
An apparently infuriated Churchill fired back at his former wife, stating that he had tried to reach out to his son on several occasions but was always denied access.
The former lovers continued to trade acrimonious words at each other to the disappointment of some of their fans.
NEDU MAKES ANOTHER DAMNING CLAIM
Nedu Wazobia, the on-air personality (OAP), stirred up a hornets’ nest last week after he claimed the house rents of most girls living in Lagos are paid by his friends.
The radio host also alleged that he knows some ladies in Lagos who are “broke” and “funded” by men.
“I stand corrected but I will always say this, most of the girls living in Lagos, not Lekki specifically, most but not all of them. I know some that pay their rent themselves, most of the girls living in Lagos it is men that fund their rents,” he said.
“I don’t know the girls oh but I know their friends that pay the rent. Most of their friends are my friends. When you’ve been in the industry for twelve years and counting, you would have gathered a lot of things and you won’t wonder about certain things. In this Lagos, in this Nigeria, when you have the money, you will know.”
His statement provoked a wave of mixed reactions on social media platforms.
PORTABLE THRILLS CROWD FROM THE ROOF OF FILLING STATION
Portable took his controversial stunt to another dimension after he performed on the roof of a filling station.
The ‘Zazoo Zeh’ crooner was spotted shirtless as he showed off his trademark dance steps with so much energy.
Portable thrilled onlookers with some of his hits songs as the crowd number began to increase.
The ‘Zazoo Zeh’ crooner has continued to remain in the public eye for his stage acrobatics and stunts.
In December 2022, the singer was seen stepping out of a coffin during one of his stage performances.
