Regina Daniels, Nollywood actress, and Ned Nwoko, her husband, have been vaccinated for COVID-19.
The couple took to their individual social media pages on Friday to share photos of themselves taking the AstraZeneca shot in the Udumuje Ugboko area of Delta.
They also disclosed that there “were no side effects” — days after taking the shot.
“I took my COVID AstraZeneca injection 3days ago in Udumuje Ugboko and there are no side effects,” Regina said.
On his part, Nwoko wrote: “I took my covid AstraZeneca injection 4days ago. No side effects whatsoever. My family and friends were vaccinated. Everybody needs to be inoculated for safer public health.”
The development comes at about the same time when Kunle Afolayan, Nollywood filmmaker, disclosed that he received a shot of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
Afolayan said he took the vaccine despite claims about the alleged side effects of the drugs among those who have been vaccinated against the novel disease.
There have been reports on the development of blood clots in some recipients of the vaccine, causing several European countries to discontinue its use.
The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), however, dismissed claims of severe side effects relating to the administration of the vaccine in the country.
“No Nigerian so far has developed any known severe side effects following vaccination with AstraZeneca vaccine,” it said.
